Margaret creates the embossings by carving a plate out of unmounted linoleum for each image. She then put the plate through an etching press with damp paper and lots of pressure. When dry, she paints them with watercolor. Each one has come from a trip to a different country where she has discovered distinct styles in each region. Circa 1776 is from Alexandria Virginia; the Victorian American is from Cape May, New Jersey.
