La Bella Italia

These paintings where done during three beautiful weeks in Italy in September, 2003. Margaret spent two weeks teaching in Umbria in minute hill towns and Roman ruins, then spent another week in Rome. The Italians are so repectful of artists showering her with "bellissimo" at every turn. The weather was perfect for painting, sunny, warm but not hot. The class stayed at La Romita School of Art in the hills above Terni. From there they were taken by bus to the painting sites Margaret had chosen. The paintings were done one location with some finishing touches in the studio.
